Colleges: Provides a 100% free state of the art platform for the University to help educate their students on maintaining a professional online presence. In addition, Colleges for the first time have a real-time connectivity site for information exchange between the University and its alumni. Employers: MyWorkster allows employers to reach students on a very specific level with our pioneering 'sponsored jobs' service. In addition, employers can now meet possible candidates on a very personal level, minimizing the expense of the complex interview process. Alumni: Through the MyWorkster Alliance system, Alumni can now take advantage of todays exciting technologies to stay connected with their university like never before. Through regional news, school specific news, featured alumni, and endowments, Alumni now have the capability to stay connected and reach out to their alma mater like never before.What do I do to get started?Simply go to our homepage and sign up! It's 100% free and takes less than 1 minute of your time. Feel free to utilize all aspects of our web site, but remember many of our networks are invitation-only. In order to utilize the advantages of being in a network, you may need a current member to invite you to join.Who can view my profile? How much information will they see?As few or as many people as you want. Visit our Manage myAccount page to choose who you want to view your profile.Am I going to get spam?MyWorkster works arduously to minimize SPAM on our web site. Since our networks are primarily invitation only, it is very difficult for Spammers to infiltrate our web site. If you ever encounter Spam, please report the case to our customer service team.I can't remember my password. How do I sign in?In order to sign in, you need to enter the email address you registered with when you joined along with your password.I lost my invitation; how do I join? Even if you've lost your invitation, you can still join MyWorkster. However, you will not be automatically connected with the sender of your original invitation or the network the invite came from.My invitation has expired. Can I still join? Yes, but you will not be connected with the sender of your original invitation, nor will you be accepted into the invite-only network that the invitation was connected to. MyWorkster AccountHow much does a MyWorkster account cost?All of our accounts are 100% free to utilize ALL of our services.What do I get with my account?Just play around…you get it all! To name a few: Instant Messenger, Groups, Messaging, Endorsements, News Room, Portfolio Manager, Sponsored Jobs, Alliance System for alumni and colleges.How do I add an email address to my account?You may only have 1 email address per account. This will be the email address you registered with.How do I change the primary email address for my account?Simply go to your account settings by visiting the Manage myAccount page. Once you are there, you may add another email address and choose your desired primary email address.When I try to add an email address to my account, I get an error. Why?Make sure you have entered the email address correctly. If that doesn't work, it's possible that you already have another MyWorkster account using the email address that produces the error. To close a second account, please send an email request to support@MyWorkster.com. Make sure that you include the email addresses associated with each of the accounts and indicate which will be the primary email address for the account you keep. Please note that you will lose all of the information in the account that you close. I accidentally created two accounts. Can I merge them? No you cannot. Be sure to transfer all your information to your desired account before you close the other. To close a second account, please see previous question.How do I close my account and become removed from the system? To close your MyWorkster account, email a request to support@MyWorkster.com. Please include your name and the email address for the account you would like to close. SettingsHow can I control the settings and preferences for my MyWorkster account?Please visit the "Manage myAccount" page. Here you can adjust settings and privacy controls for every aspect of your account. What are Groups? Groups are created and maintained by MyWorkster members. Anyone can create a MyWorkster group. Groups are the perfect platform to share information and ideas pertaining to a specific subject or community. Within each group, members can post comments, upload pictures, and communicate with other members about topics pertaining to that particular group. To create and manage a group, visit your navigation bar on the left side of your MyWorkster page. Press the 'Groups' button. You can join as many groups as you would like, but remember that many groups may be invite only or acceptance through approval only. To leave a group, simply go to the 'Groups' page. Here you will see a list of groups you belong to. Simply press the 'leave group' button connected with the group you wish to leave.How can I keep people in my network from seeing who my connections are? Visit the Manage myAccount page to change all of your personal settings. My Profile GeneralWhat is a MyWorkster profile?A member profile is split between four different categories: myBusiness Profile, myCareer Profile, myPower Profile, myVideo Resume. myBusiness Profile is a summary of your education, professional experience, interests, and capabilities. myCareer Profile allows members and employers to have a more intimate understanding of who you are and where your career aspirations lie by answering very detailed, professional questions. myResume and myVideo Resume are simply areas of your profile that expose who you are in traditional hard copy form (resume) as well as a more interactive and peronsal video profile. Who can view my profile on MyWorkster? How much information will they see? This is totally up to you. You can have as many or as few individuals see your profile. You can also choose what information you want to make available to members of MyWorkster. In addition, you can lock all of you information to be seen only through a direct link access that unlocks your profile.What is direct link access?MyWorkster will provide you with a link within the Manage myAccount page that you can send to anyone in the world. This direct link serves as a virtual key to unlocking your profile. This individual will then have access to your profile. EndorsementsWhat is an endorsement?An endorsement is a recommendation written by a MyWorkster user to recommend a colleague, business partner, employer, or fellow student. This will appear on a member's MyWorkster profile. You can decide if you want to keep an endorsement or remove it. You may also provide an endorsement to another member of MyWorkster. You can always go back to change or delete an endorsement that you have made. Connecting GeneralWhat is my Network?Your network is comprised of those members that are directly connected to you through accepting an invitation or offering an invitation that was accepted. Your extended network is compromised of members on MyWorkster that are removed from your direct contacts by different degrees of separation. To give you an idea of how the degrees work: o You are at the center of your networkYour direct connections make up the 1st degree of your networkThe people connected to each of your direct connections make up your 2nd degree. The people connected to those in your 2nd degree make up your 3rd degree Note: Your network is not the same as the MyWorkster network, which is made up of every user on the MyWorkster web site.What is a connection?A connection is someone to whom you are directly connected. A direct connection is in the 1st degree of your network and you are in the 1st degree of their network.How do I connect with members on MyWorkster?Users connect through invitations. For two people to connect one must invite the other and the second individual must accept. If the person being invited to connect is not already on MyWorkster, they will need to join in order to accept the invitation. You can invite members by providing their emails in the "Invite Contacts" section. You can see which of your contacts are already on MyWorkster and easily select multiple contacts from a pre-populated list of MyWorkster members in your network. You can upload your address book from a multitude of mail applications and networking sites. You can simply search for a MyWorkster member using our advanced search mechanism. Once you have found the member you are looking for, choose "Invite to contacts". A message will then be delivered to that member regarding your invitation. If they accept, then that individual now becomes your direct contactCan I remove a person from my list of connections?Yes, to remove one or more people from your list of connections, go to myContacts. Here you can choose one ore many contacts that you would like to remove. Select which member you would like to remove and press the 'remove from contacts' button that appears on their contact bar.Uploading ContactsHow do I upload contacts?In the 'invite contacts' section, you may upload your address book from a number of applications. Find which applications that you are affiliated with (Yahoo mail, AOL mail, LinkedIn, etc). You will see a place for you to enter your email address and password that correlates to your email application (Don't worry, this is 100% secure and will never be redistributed). MyWorkster will then upload your address book and populate a list of your contacts within the chosen application. Here you can choose which individuals you wish to invite into your MyWorkster contacts. MyWorkster will never send invitations to your contacts unless you explicitly choose to invite them. In addition, MyWorkster will never use the information you provide to send emails to your contacts. Finding UsersWhen I search for users, what information can I see?If you are a member of MyWorkster you can, by default, see a person's name, network, and entire profile. However, most members will choose to keep their profile hidden to only their primary contacts, or viewed with direct link access only. If this is the case, then members on MyWorkster that do not meet the criteria will only see the first name, last name, and network associated with the member. Contacting UsersWho can contact me through MyWorkster?By default, anyone on MyWorkster can contact you through a message. You can change your messaging settings in the Account Settings section to change your messaging criteria. JOBSHow does MyWorkster help me find and land a great job?MyWorkster allows our users to find jobs through a few different avenues: -Visit our JOBS section for a searchable list of all jobs currently posted on MyWorkster. -Browse 'sponsored jobs' that appear directly on your homepage based on the industry you desire to appear on your homepage. -Network professionally with other members of MyWorkster. Create a connection and see it through. -Connect with alumni in your desired field. Alumni are some of our greatest resources in helping us land jobs. -Create the best possible professional profile. You will stand out and employers will find you!As an employer, how does MyWorkster help me hire the right candidate?MyWorkster allows employers to browse our database of candidates. They can request a direct link from our members, or simply browse those members without any privacy settings. This allows our employers to gain a much more personal understanding of an individual they may consider for an interview or a job. In addition, MyWorkster allows employers to post sponsored jobs for a fraction of the price of today's most popular job posting methods (i.e. Monster, CareerBuilder, newspapers, etc). MyWorkster provides the most effective and targeted approach to reaching job candidates. Employers can post jobs that target students from a specific college, industry, and level of experience. Dead-end candidates just simply will not view your sponsored jobs. PrivacyHow can I be sure that my privacy will be protected on MyWorkster?MyWorkster is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who use our services. MyWorkster will never share your information to 3rd parties, nor will any of your information be sold to 3rd parties. Please see our Privacy Policies to learn more about your privacy on MyWorkster.com. Access to your data on MyWorkster is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information [to post sponsored jobs or 'give back' to your desired institution] is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and our web site. We use a tier-one secured-access provider that supplies services to many of the largest and most secure sites on the Internet, to protect any data you store on our servers. We also regularly audit our system for possible attacks and vulnerabilities.How can I be sure that materials I have on my profile will not be copied or redistributed?Please visit our Terms & Conditions page. It clearly states, "Any works, materials, or information found on MyWorkster.com cannot be copied or redistributed without the expressed written consent of the publisher".What information about me do fellow MyWorkster users see?Users can see your name and full profile information unless otherwise restricted by changing your Privacy settings in the Manage myAccount page.Can people outside MyWorkster find my MyWorkster profile?Yes. If you provide an individual with your direct link, they will have full access to your page. Otherwise non-members cannot find your profile.Who can see information about my contacts?By default, any of your direct connections can see a list of your other direct connections when they view your profile.What happens when I upload my contacts to MyWorkster?Uploading contacts provides a quick and easy way to invite large numbers of contacts that are not currently members. Uploaded contacts are NOT automatically invited to connect. You must specifically choose which of your uploaded contacts you'd like to invite. MyWorkster will never send invitations to your contacts unless you choose to invite them. In addition, MyWorkster will never use the information you provide to send emails to your contacts.Who can contact me on MyWorkster and how? Anyone that is currently a member of the MyWorkster network.What if I get invitations that I don't want?You may simply decline the invitation and delete the request. We recommend that you decline invitations from members that you do not know or recognize.What are the best practices I can follow to protect my privacy?MyWorkster strongly recommends that you only connect to people you know and trust. This gives you much more control over who can see your profile and who can contact you, keeping all of your information as safe and secure as possible. Don't post any information that you feel may be too personal for anyone outside of your most immediate and trustworthy contacts. Be careful with how you display your contact information. The more people that have access to this information, the more you lose control of your privacy. Visit your Manage myAccount page regularly. Brose through all of the settings and make sure that they meet your desires and requirements. Select a password for MyWorkster that is easy for you to remember, but can't easily be learned. Passwords with 10 or more characters and includes both letters and numbers are the most secure. Never give your password to others. If you use a public or shared computer to log in to MyWorkster, make sure that you log out completely when you've finished. If you use a public or shared computer to log in to MyWorkster, ensure that the computer does not remember your user name and password. Otherwise, users other than you that access the site will be able to log on as you without knowing your log in information. Report privacy problems that you see or experience on MyWorkster. Please notify us of any problems by sending an email to support@myworkster.com.If I join MyWorkster, can my current employer find me there?It is difficult to stop people in your current company from learning that you're using MyWorkster. Considering that the majority of MyWorkster members are also using the web site for professional networking and staying connected with their respective university, you most likely need not worry. In addition, utilizing MyWorkster can greatly enhance your current status as an employee. By utilizing MyWorkster and its services to connect with other industry professionals, you are strengthening your network and influence within your industry as well as your company. You can simply do your job more effectively. MyNewsRoom allows members to keep abreast of new job postings, collegiate events, information changes within your direct contacts, and calendar entries, among many others.How do I use the MyWorkster Instant Messenger?You can simply open the Instant Messenger and contact members in your buddy list that are currently online. You can also begin a chat room and have an Instant Messenger Chat Room Session amongst several MyWorkster members.What are Sponsored Jobs?MyWorkster has pioneered a revolutionary way for employers to reach job candidates as specifically as possible. Employers can now post jobs that are specific to graduates from a particular college, working in a particular industry, and having a certain amount of experience. These jobs will then populate onto our members homepages. Members can choose an industry that they wish to see sponsored jobs for. Once they choose these industries, a 'sponsored jobs' window will automatically appear o the member's homepage with a list of 10 targeted jobs within each industry aimed directly at matching that user's desires and qualifications. By utilizing sponsored jobs, employers no longer need worry about their job postings landing in the hands of candidates that do not meet their requirements. Furthermore, our members will have quick and easy access to jobs that meet their standards as well.What is Alliance by MyWorkster?The Alliance system was created to maximize the communication between alumni and their university. Today's means of reaching alumni are slow, antiquated, and simply ineffective. Through the Alliance system, alumni have real-time access to events, stories and news regarding their alma mater. Every day they log on, new information is populated and displayed. Keep track of sporting events, featured alumni, endowment numbers, construction, student achievements, and regional alumni activities all by visiting your University Alliance Portal. Alumni can also receive messages from an Alumni Director regarding very important information pertaining to the University. In addition, the Alliance system provides Alumni with a quick and easy means of giving back to the University. Forget over the phone money exchanges, mailing checks, credit card information or money. With the click of a button, members can send a secure payment in a matter of seconds!What is my Power Resume?This is your hard copy resume. You can upload your resume by going to your "Account Settings" page and 'manage power resume'. Here you can upload your resume and it will automatically populate into your profile. You can only upload 1 resume into your profile. However, you can upload multiple resumes in your myPortfolio section.What is the Video Resume?The video resume is quickly being called the 'future of the job search'. Members can simply upload a video in any acceptable video format. The video will then populate onto our member's "video resume" tab on their profile. MyWorkster's proprietary video upload system is 100% secure. Members have complete control of who can see their video resume. MyWorkster's video resume feature also encourages users to simply film themselves in an interview setting and utilize the service to critique their behavior, mannerisms, and overall interview presence.How do I use the Video Resume?Go to your 'Account Settings' page and 'manage video resume'. Here you can browse and upload your video. Follow directions on how to add a video. It will automatically populate into your profile. You may only upload 1 video resume for your profile page. However, you can store multiple videos in your myPortfolio section.What is myPortfolio?MyPortfolio is a career development service offered by MyWorkster that allows users to upload their most important credentials. Be it a presentation, an essay, a detailed resume, or a video, members can keep track of projects and accomplishments throughout their years by organizing such accomplishments in their myPortfolio section. MyWorkster's myPortfolio feature is 100% secure. Members have complete control of who can see their Portfolio.How do I upload and maintain myPortfolio?Simply go to your navigation bar on the left side of the page. Choose the Manage myAccount button. From there choose the myPortfolio button. Here you can upload any item you desire to keep in your portfolio. Hint: Choose an appropriate name and description to easily remember what pieces you have uploaded. If you allow member's to view your Portfolio or provide direct link access to view your Portfolio, then members can have access to the projects you have uploaded.
